Revenge is a Beast that is never satisfied

I want Justice and Mercy for all people no matter who they are.

And we’re in heavy and painful time in America where some feel like injustice is happening and that the system is against them. Now, We all need mercy and our world cannot be at peace without justice.

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly[a] with your God.

It is the desire of God that people walk in peace with each other and that we deal justly with each other. I’m not here to comment specifically on the current cases and verdicts but more the reaction from those who have an interest in controlling people.

Rather than meeting a guilty verdict with celebration that you felt justice was served, the whole narrative is that you see them shoving is:

“DON’T SEE THIS AS JUSTICE”

They do this to keep pushing a feeling of unrest and anger that can only be satisfied in their minds by a total revenge and overthrow. People need justice and mercy but are being pushed and stirred and manipulated into seeking revenge. But, The ones controlling the mob don’t want justice or revenge for them, they just want power for themselves. And justice and revenge don’t help them stay in power because it subsides the anger and fear they need to keep the mob in submission.

But, how do we heal? How do we overcome? We must be called to FORGIVE. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that we forget justice, it means that we don’t need revenge on those who hurt us to find peace.

Peace is a byproduct of forgiveness.

Allow God to be the distributor of justice and payback on those who do evil.

Deuteronomy 32:35
It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.

Now, in a healthy nation, God uses the government to help exact justice. And to show no partiality in delivery that justice. As long as we are on this side of eternity we’ll have to wrestle with maintaining true justice and mercy. But don’t let the media, the government or anyone keep you stirred up in anger and seeking blood, rather extend the forgiveness that Jesus extended to you.
