Announcing: Exciting Ministry Update — San Diego, here we come!

DSC_0225We’re excited to share with you about a new season of ministry that God is leading our family into!

At about age 13, I began to sense the call into ministry; the wonderful call from Jesus to follow him and lay every part of my life down to advance his kingdom on earth. To the best of my ability, and now, to the best of our ability, Katie and I, and our girls, Mercedes (6), and Kenzie (3), have been running hard after all that God has called and gifted us to do! For 20 years, each new season has been so exciting as the Holy Spirit leads us to leave comfort zones and walk out on the water towards Jesus; always towards the simple call of Jesus to “come.”

This year marked 13 incredible years of ministry on the Champions Centre staff! In May of this year, we handed over the reigns of directing Champions Centre College. In June, Pastor Kevin and I met, and both sensed that God was calling Katie and I to begin a new season of ministry. After some time in prayer, council, several prophetic words, and obvious doors opening, we sensed Jesus calling us to come out and walk on new and uncharted waters.

imageSo, we’re excited to announce that in October, we’ll be moving to San Diego, CA to begin the next chapter of our ministry. For 20 years God has been stirring in me a desire to encourage and mobilize the church locally and globally through preaching, writing, and developing resources that connect people to Jesus and activate their potential. We’ll be basing and serving at C3 Church, with our long time friends, mentors, and now pastors, Jurgen and Leanne Matthesius. It’s an incredible life-giving church, influencing that city and the globe and we’re thrilled to be serving with them!

Along with ministry, God has also been blessing Katie the past year as a real estate agent. She’ll be continuing that in San Diego.  It’s a great time to be alive and we’re excited for this new season! To: Pastor Kevin & Sheila
We have so much love and appreciation for both of you! Thank you for caring, training, investing and giving us an opportunity and chance to grow. As a part of the team the past 13 years we’ve had the great privilege of being a part of making an impact locally and globally through the Church and Bible college. Thanks for the conversations, the encouraging notes, the straight talks, the gifts, the trust, the grace. There are so many incredible memories and things I could point out, but one highlight was being a part of your weekly message planning meeting. Before we began each week, you would pray a simple but heartfelt prayer, “God, help us, help people, Amen.” What a privilege to have been a small part of all that God has done and will do through you and Champions Centre. Thank you!

To: The Champions Centre Staff
We’ve been through so much together! Lot’s of joy, lots of late nights, and even plenty of all-nighters! From the youth ministry days to directing the bible college, it has been a rare privilege to serve alongside such a dedicated, hard-working, life-giving, and gifted staff. We’ve learned so much from you, we are who we are today because of you all! We’ve accomplished so much together, and it’s just the beginning of what God has for you. Too many stories to try to mention them all, but just, thank you! Thanks for walking with us through all of life’s struggles and triumphs. And thanks for loving our family the way you did! Our daughters love you all! It has meant the world to us!

To: Champions Centre Family
I use family intentionally, because, while we’re moving to another state, we’re still family. Our heart is still to see you follow Jesus fully, and experience all that God has for you! Thank you all for making each weekend the greatest family reunion! And for jumping on board and serving heart and soul in every service, project or event that Katie and I were privileged to lead. Thank you for stepping up and giving your all to the cause!! Your selfless sacrifice for the kingdom has been so inspiring! What a joy to serve this city with you! As a final note, we’d ask that you partner with us in prayer. We can’t do anything significant without laying the groundwork in prayer. So, as we step out in faith to begin this new ministry to the broader Church, we’d love if you’d take some time to pray with and for us: pray for boldness to preach the gospel, for wisdom to equip his people, and for clarity to write in a way that awakens the greatness of each individual and Church!

    I am so happy to hear of God’s plans for your continuing service. I know if God directs you (us) it is the right thing to do and we should never question it. You will, I’m sure be in a position to touch, change and minister to many more than you ever thought possible.     WOW!!! I didn’t know…but I did know!!! No wonder…
    How EXCITING!!! And maybe we run into each other while I am in San Diego for a prophetic summit in October. 🙂

    Again is say…Eyes have not seen, neither have ears heard…the great things that God has in store for you!!!

    I heard you were heading to San Diego… Congrats! So glad God put you and Katie in my life—it’s truly been a blessing to know and love you, laugh a bunch with you and most of all serve Jesus with you and your family Samuel. I have a friend in San Diego that I grew up with and she needs Jesus more than ever… I’m sincerely praying God will somehow connect you guys! Hugs.

    You have a strong Love that you show in your day to day that is testimony you are one of God’s chosen. I always admired you for the wisdom you have about you that is one of your leadership qualities that inspired me. You will be missed in person but I know your influence here is not limited to you being here. I for one will still be looking for good writing coming from your blog. Thank you so much for your commitment to the school and Champion Centre it is better because of you. Our family prays that your wings spread large and prosper in your new journey.
