A little about our story

 

Samuel & Katie are passionate about life, family, friends, church, and most importantly all about Jesus! For them, life and ministry focus on strengthening, encouraging, and equipping The Church through discipleship resources, church leadership coaching, and ministering with a prophetic edge. Calling the Church to know and follow Jesus passionately, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and bring the hope of the gospel to every corner of the earth!

In 2016, The Holy Spirit gave them a mandate to “Make 1 Million Disciples!” And that is what all of their life, work, and ministry is focused towards!

Samuel, Katie, and their beautiful daughters, Mercedes and Kenzie, are the campus pastors of the Bressi Ranch location of Awaken Church in San Diego, CA. Awaken Church is led by the incredible pastors, Jurgen & Leanne Matthesius.

A little more of the backstory: They both grew up in Minnesota, responded to the ministry call from a young age, and launched into full-time ministry in 2003 after Samuel graduated from Champions Centre College and Katie from Hillsong College. They’ve served and led as youth and young adult pastors, directed Bible College, lead community outreach efforts, and now continue to encourage and strengthen the Church through pastoring, preaching, and writing.
