Is your life stuck? (Here's a thought to get you moving)

As I was reading Proverbs 13:4 this morning the words "sluggard" & "Diligent" jumped out at me so I took a few minutes to search it out.

A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. (Proverbs 13:4 NIV)

When you look at the root meaning of the word sluggard it means to "Lean idly". Think about this in basic terms. When you start your car and leave it running without putting it in gear your car is idling. Which means its burning gas but not getting anywhere. I wonder if you feel like that sometimes? If you feel like your life is idling than a quick look at the word diligent will help get us moving forward. The word "Diligent" means to be active, alert, focused and decisive. Too many of us get paralyzed because we fail to make decisions.  If you have desires and dreams that God has put in your heart then you'll have to put your life in gear by making decisions that move you forward. Just remember that a diligent life is an active one. I don't know your work-ethic upbringing but I'd challenge you to dig a little deeper and increase your resolve to daily & consistently(even when things get difficult) work at the dreams God put in your heart.

Making decisions Moves you forward

And think about that promise that Proverbs gives us at the end of that verse... If we are diligent, our desires will be FULLY SATISFIED. Don't idle your life away...Put your life in gear, make a decision today that moves your life forward!
