Parenting | If your kids thinking isn't healthy, they won't be healthy
I was reminded of the importance of leading and disciplining our children as I was reading Proverbs 22:15 this morning. This verse talks about how discipline will keep folly or foolishness away from them. Now most good parents wouldn't think of letting their kids hangout with another child who is a bad influence or constantly makes foolish choices that would endanger our kids. But without realizing it we often let our kids entertain foolish thinking that could cause great harm to their lives. I want to encourage you to help your child process, evaluate and correct their thinking.
If their thinking isn't healthy, they won't be healthy.
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far away. (Proverbs 22:15 NIV)
My wife(Katie) & I know this can be tiring to consistently reinforce biblical and healthy thinking with our kids but it's worth it. If your kids are young, this is a great time to start leading their thinking towards healthy biblical thinking. If your kids are teenagers or older, it's not too late to model and encourage new ways of thinking.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
How your kids Think really does matter. If we really love our kids the way we say we do than lets commit to correct and lead their thinking.
