Where do you draw strength?

I want to ask the question, 'Where does strength come from?" or more importantly, where does your strength come from? I think many of us are struggling, failing and wanting to quit because the place we are attempting to get strength is off. Check out the wording in Jeremiah 17:5:

This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. (Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭5)

If you've been looking to and attempting to draw your strength from man, you'll come up short every time. People often get this wrong and assume that they should draw their hope from humanity. You see it all the time, people assume that the government should take care of them and provide everything for them. Or people assume their friend or their husband/wife is supposed to make them happy. But none of that works in the end, our strength should be drawn from one direction. Look at these follow-up verses.

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7-8‬ NIV)

Blessing, confidence, favor, peace and the strength you're needing comes when we put our trust in the Lord rather than in man. Today, let's make the shift from expecting man to be our savior and look to Jesus our Lord and savior!
