Everyone has baggage (aka Mindsets)

As I sit in the Miami airport, Im hanging out in the American Airlines lounge looking over the walkway where other passengers are boarding and de-boarding their flights. I noticed a couple things but one primary thing I felt God show me.

All of the passengers have baggage. Some traveled lighter than others but without exception they all had baggage. The young travelers had them, the old as well.. even the professional pilots and flight attendants all had bags. Now some made it look more effortless and others cumbersomely stumbled thru the airport to their destination but they all had baggage.

That baggage could represent many things but I felt like it represented "mind-sets". And the question isn't do you have previously obtained mindsets that you carry around with you, but "How are they working for you!?" Is it helping or hurting your progress?

In the verse below Paul calls on Christians to make changes to their thinking. To make adjustments from futile thinking that was attached to an ungodly way of living.

Ephesians 4:17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

Take an inventory of your mindsets. Are they holding you back? You cant avoid the reality that the way you think is why you are where you are right now and how you think now will determine where you go tomorrow. Like Kevin Gerald says, "Thoughts are like Trains, they take you somewhere".

So when you pack your bags (aka: mindsets) ask yourself will this take me where I want to go? Or where God wants me to go?

P.S. Sometimes you'll mature in your thinking through general life observation but most of the time this process is not by accident and needs to be intentional on your part. Take the time to grow how you think.
