It’s Time To Pick A Hill!

Some people like confronting difficult areas of culture but most of us if we’re honest would rather avoid conflict if possible.

So, when it comes to areas of our lives, family or nation that are in trouble we can tend to defer our involvement by saying something like, “That’s not my hill to die on.” But, I loved what @officialbenshapiro recently said: “If you say "this isn't the hill to die on" about every hill, there won't be any more hills to defend. That's the point”

This is such a powerful point and it reminds me of the story of Esther. She wanted to hide out and avoid the conflict, but ultimately chose to PICK A HILL.

“When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?””

You can’t take ALL THE HILLS, but you can pick 1, 2 or even 3 hills.

For me, I’m willing to take the hills of:

• Discipleship

• Integrity

• Truth

• Marriage

• Pro-Life

• Parenting

• Politics

• Freedom.
