Unlock People’s Lives With Truth!
I want to encourage all of us to care more about helping people than we do about not offending people.
We don’t need to be harsh, but we need to speak the truth.
It’s an old but classic example: if you saw a child running into a street and you saw a car coming, would you just let them run because you don’t want to tell them what their doing is wrong and you don’t want to yell because it might scare them? Or would you yell as loud as you can to wake them out of their moment to stop and avoid death? And run after them to try and stop them?
Of course we all would try to stop the child from getting hit by the car; well, we need to apply the same line of thinning to the world around us today. Many areas of our culture are just running towards oncoming traffic and we’re all too afraid to say anything because we don’t want to offend.
If we truly love people like we claim, then it’s time to speak up and speak truth.
This applies on a larger culture scale and also applies at the local level of your family and friends. Don’t leave people in bondage if you have the key to unlock them.
“Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.” Proverbs 27:5-6 NIV
“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.””
John 8:31-32 NIV
